Butzel Long Elects Four New Shareholders
DETROIT — Butzel Long has elected four attorneys as new shareholders. They include: Beth I. deBaptiste, John A. Forrest, Andrew M. Friedman, and Steven M. Raymond.
Based in the Bloomfield Hills office, deBaptiste, of Shelby Township, concentrates her practice in construction law, construction and title insurance litigation, real estate law and litigation and civil business litigation. She is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, Macomb County Bar Association, Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, and Real Property Law Section, State Bar of Michigan - Construction Law Committee. deBaptiste earned a J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Albion College.
Based in the Bloomfield Hills office, Forrest, of Lake Orion, focuses his practice in the areas of franchise and distribution law, commercial contracts and business planning and corporate law. He is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, Antitrust, Franchising and Trade Regulation Section (past chair); member of franchise committee; and American Bar Association Forum Committee on Franchising. Forrest earned an LLM (Master of Laws) in taxation from Wayne State University; a J.D from the University of Detroit Mercy; and, an AB from the University of Michigan
Based in the firm's Washington, D.C. office, Friedman primarily represents clients involved in government investigations. He has defended some of the largest corporations in the country in criminal and civil investigations and prosecutions, as well as in parallel administrative, regulatory and civil litigation. Friedman has guided clients through voluntary disclosures to civil and criminal enforcement bodies and proactive enhancements to their ethics and compliance functions as well. He earned his JD from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Based in Butzel Long's Bloomfield Hills office, Raymond, of Troy, concentrates his practice in the areas of franchise law, title insurance, real estate law, business civil litigation, business and corporate law and probate and estate law. He is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan - Real Property Section and Probate Section. He serves on the board of directors of Marian High School; director, Robert E. Burke Trust Fund; finance council and SEED director, Holy Name Church. He earned his J.D. from the University of Detroit and his BS from Western Michigan University.
