FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DETROIT, Mich. – Butzel Long attorney Bernard J. Fuhs will moderate a webinar on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 presented by the American Bar Association Section of Labor and Employment Law and the ABA Center for Continuing Legal Education. The title of the webinar is: “Non-competes in the Electronic Workplace: Solicitation in the Age of Social Media.”
Solicitation is both new and different in the age of social media. The webinar will explore:
• When is “friending” a solicitation?
• To what extent can an employee’s on line post jeopardize the secret status of employer information?
• How has the law kept pace and fallen behind with the seemingly daily innovations in social media?
• How workers communicate and exchange information in the modern workplace?
“Social media has changed the way we communicate today,” said Mr. Fuhs. “This program will focus on key issues in the non-compete and trade secret arena that are occurring as a result of this shift and how to best address them.”
Based in Butzel Long’s Detroit office, Mr. Fuhs concentrates his practice in the areas of business and commercial litigation. He has significant experience in non-compete, non-disclosure, and trade secret disputes, business and financial services industry disputes, franchise and dealerships, transportation and logistics industry disputes, construction, real estate, securities, and sales representative matters. He has successfully litigated and counseled clients on non-compete and trade secret matters in all 50 states. He also advises start-up and closely held businesses, as well as sports and fitness industry members.
Mr. Fuhs is a frequent speaker on non-compete and trade secret issues and has authored and contributed to numerous publications (both national and local) regarding the same.
