Butzel Long attorney Les Glick to speak at Seminar on US Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA)
Washington Shareholder Les Glick will speak at a seminar on USMCA on December 17, 2020. The seminar entitled “Supply Chain Agreements and USMCA: Rules of Origin Requirements; Labor Enforcement, De Minimis Levels, Sunset Clause will address numerous aspects of the new USMCA and how it differs from the previous North American Free Trade Agreement(NAFTA) which is no longer in effect. Other speakers include Aristeo Lopez, International Trade Counsel to the Embassy of Mexico who participated in the negotiations. Special emphasis will be given to the effects of the new Rules of Origin on the automotive industry. Digital Trade and Intellectual Property issues will also be discussed as well as changes involving labor laws protecting workers and the likelihood of increased enforcement under the Biden Administration
