DETROIT, Mich. – Butzel Long attorney Rebecca S. Davies will be a featured speaker during the North American Transportation Employee Relations (NATERA) Annual Conference from October 23-25, 2011 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Ms. Davies, a Board member of NATERA, will co-present a program titled, “Leave Management Workshop: The Most Frequent and Challenging Leave Management Problems Employers Must Solve.”
“Employers need to find practical solutions to comply with the leave laws,” said Ms. Davies. “The goal of this seminar is to examine a variety of fact patterns that highlight the most difficult but reoccurring legal issues that employers face today in responding to employee requests for time off work.”
Based in Butzel Long’s Detroit office, Ms. Davies concentrates her practice primarily in the areas of employment law and commercial litigation. She represents employers in federal and state court litigation and before state and federal administrative agencies. She regularly counsels employers regarding compliance under federal and state employment laws (including FLSA, FMLA, ADA and Title VII), drafts policies and procedures, and advises on preventative strategies.
Ms. Davies’ objective is to assist clients in implementing preventative strategies. She is a frequent author and lecturer, not only for client in-house trainings and publications, but also for outside organizations, including: Walsh College, the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Automation Alley and the American Society of Employers.
Ms. Davies earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan at Dearborn her juris doctorate, magna cum laude, from the Detroit College of Law in 1995 and, her master’s degree, LL.M. in Labor and Employment Law, from Wayne State University Law School.
