DETROIT, Mich. –  Butzel Long attorneys Gary W. Klotz and Bethany Steffke Sweeny will discuss the Americans With Disabilities Act – New Regulations during a meeting of the American Society of Employers on April 26 in Livonia.  The program will address pertinent regulation definitions of disability and what new compliance requirements employers are subject to.

Gary W. Klotz

Mr. Klotz has represented employers in labor and employment law matters for more than 30 years.  He has successfully defended employers in state and federal courts, as well as before state and federal administrative agencies.  He also has extensive experience representing employers in labor arbitration cases, collective bargaining negotiations, and preventive employee relations counseling.

Mr. Klotz is the author of numerous articles about labor and employment law, and he regularly speaks at management education programs about labor and employment issues.

Bethany Steffke Sweeny

Ms. Sweeny concentrates her practice in the area of labor and employment law, focusing on employment litigation involving state and federal claims of harassment, retaliation and discrimination, as well as FMLA and whistleblower claims.
She has represented employers in front of various administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights and other state agencies.  Ms. Sweeny also provides employers with general advice regarding employment law issues and litigation avoidance.
