Butzel Long attorneys Linda J. Armstrong and Clara DeMatteis Mager were featured instructors recently during a webinar presented by the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). The presentation was entitled, "Immigration Law Compliance: Wading Through the Red Tape." Participants got the latest updates and how to be compliant with proper paperwork before a government audit.
Based in Butzel Long's Detroit office, Linda Armstrong focuses her practice on business and family immigration issues including all aspects of the international movement of personnel, inbound and outbound work-authorized nonimmigrant (temporary) and immigrant (permanent) status immigration consequences of mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring employment eligibility and employer sanctions and I-9 and LCA audits.
Ms. Armstrong is a member of the Michigan Bar Association, the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She is a member of the Advisory Counsel for the International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit.
Ms. Armstrong is a graduate of Madonna College and Detroit College of Law.
Clara Mager, who is based in Butzel Long's Detroit office, is the Practice Group Manager of the firm’s Immigration Group. Ms. Mager also is the Regional Chair of Lex Mundi's Immigration Group (formerly the Chairperson) and Chair, J.D./ L.L.B. Advisory Board, University of Detroit Mercy School of Law/University of Windsor Faculty of Law. She is a graduate of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce Leadership Detroit XXII class.
Ms. Mager has organized and participated in numerous seminars and programs in the immigration law area. She is included in the publication The Best Lawyers in America and enjoys an "AV" rating from the Martindale-Hubbell rating system.
Ms. Mager earned her B.S. from Wayne State University and her J.D. from the Detroit College of Law.
