FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DETROIT, Mich. – A Butzel Long tradition for more than ten years now is participating in an annual adopt-a-family program during the holiday season. This year, Butzel Long partnered with Focus: HOPE to adopt three families for the holidays in Wayne, Oakland and Washtenaw Counties.

“The families are hard working single-parent homes,” said Calethia Binion, Human Resources Manager, Butzel Long. “Our employees look forward to this very special Butzel Long tradition. They enjoy buying gifts for the families to ensure they have a very special holiday. On average, each child will receive eight gifts.  Our employees often buy some extra items for families as well. In addition to the gifts, we also provide gift cards to grocery stores to ensure families have a wonderful holiday meal as well.”

Butzel Long employees have a special opportunity to deliver the gifts to the families. “We want to share in the excitement and see the faces of the families when they receive the gifts,” said Ms. Binion. “We have a group of employees who volunteer to deliver the gifts. It is heartwarming to see first-hand how these gifts make such a difference for families. Sharing with others is what the holiday season is all about. We enjoy doing it.”

During the year, Butzel Long gives back to the community in a variety of ways. Butzel Long has a long and distinguished history of public service, particularly assisting clients who could otherwise not afford legal representation.  Providing quality pro bono legal services is a priority for Butzel Long. The firm’s lawyers, from the newest associate to members of the Board of Directors, use their expertise and training to make a difference each year, providing thousands of hours to those in need through a wide range of programs and relationships.
