Butzel Long hosts 25th Annual Labor, Employment, and Immigration Law Forum November 8, 2012 in Dearborn

DETROIT, Mich. – Employers are challenged daily to keep up with laws and issues that impact the workplace. Butzel Long will offer discussion and strategies for human resources managers, business owners, in-house attorneys, and anyone involved in human resources or employment matters during the firm’s 25th Annual Labor, Employment, and Immigration Law Forum on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at The Dearborn Inn at 20301 Oakwood Boulevard in Dearborn.
Attorneys from Butzel Long’s Labor, Employment, Benefits, and Immigration Law practice groups will offer timely information on a wide variety of issues during this one-day seminar which begins with registration at 7:15 a.m. The conference runs from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The $200 registration fee includes continental breakfast, lunch, reception, and seminar materials. This program is pending approval for PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI).
“We pack a lot of information into our one-day seminar,” said Daniel B. Tukel, Chair of Butzel Long’s Labor and Employment Law Department. “Our objective is to provide attendees with practical information that will help them day-to-day at work.”
The program begins with an update on new developments and trends, followed by a session on Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) developments with a presentation by Gail Cober, Director of the EEOC’s Detroit Field Office, and a panel discussion by Butzel Long attorneys. In addition to the general sessions, the Butzel Long seminar features 15 breakout workshop sessions focusing on issues faced by most employers. Participants can customize this part of the seminar by selecting three of the 15 workshops offered.

The featured luncheon speaker is John U. Bacon, writer, public speaker and college instructor. The title of his presentation is, “Solving People Problems – Before, During, and After They Exist.” Mr. Bacon is the author of numerous books including, “Three and Out: Rich Rodriguez and the Michigan Wolverines in the Crucible of College Football.”
