DETROIT, Mich. – A wide-range of automotive industry hurdles and opportunities will be discussed during a free webinar hosted by Butzel from 3-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. The program is titled, “Automotive Industry Outlook: Navigating Disruption in a Time of Industry Transformation.” To register online, visit https://www.butzel.com/events.

As countries around the world continue to balance vaccine deployment and COVID containment, it is clear that the pandemic is far from over. In the middle of the ongoing public health crisis, the auto industry continues to recover from the twin shocks of COVID-related production shutdowns in 2020 and the subsequent supply chain disruptions which were particularly impactful in 2021 and still impact the industry today.
Moreover, the auto industry faces accelerated transformational change toward an electrified future driven by the intensification of green policy initiatives by governments around the world.
Further, Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler) has issued new 2022 purchase agreement terms. The new terms are significantly different from the prior terms, almost without exception, in ways less favorable to the Seller.
The webinar will be moderated by Beth Gotthelf, Attorney and Shareholder, Butzel and vice president of the Michigan Chapter of NASF.
Featured speakers include:
- Mike Wall, Executive Director, Automotive Analysis at IHS Markit will review the latest macroeconomic outlook, offer a high level global sales and the production outlook and an assessment of the ongoing supply chain challenges affecting the industry. In addition, he will provide a deeper dive review of U.S. light vehicle sales and North American light vehicle production as well as a discussion of powertrain and electrification trends.
- Everardo Tapia, Attorney, Butzel, will give an overview of the significant changes to the Stellantis purchase agreement terms that may impact companies.
