Butzel Attorney Andrew S. AbdulNour Named to Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s Up & Coming Lawyers List

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Butzel attorney Andrew S. AbdulNour is one of 26 attorneys in the state named to Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2025 Class of “Up & Coming” Lawyers.”

Attorneys recognized for this honor have excelled in the profession and are standouts among their peers—all in their first 10 years of practice. These lawyers are establishing themselves as future leaders through their ambition and accomplishments, and their drive and dedication to the practice of law.

AbdulNour also will be a featured speaker during the SAE WCX Conference on April 8, 2025. He will participate in a panel titled, “AE105 ADAS and Autonomous Vehicle System: Driver Interface.” The session addresses driver interface, human factors and other technical areas that relate to driver/rider interaction, operation and impact related to ADAS and ADS.

AbdulNour focuses his practice in intellectual property law, specifically in the automotive contracting, compliance, and regulatory and data privacy spaces.

AbdulNour uses his first-hand industry based automotive experience in the automotive compliance and regulatory area, to guide suppliers through issues involving Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) noncompliance, warranty and product quality disputes, and testing non-conformances, while also helping clients mitigate risk and incorporate proper regulations and industry standards. AbdulNour also assists automotive supplier clients navigating complex automotive contracting disputes.

In the data privacy space, AbdulNour helps clients navigate everchanging data privacy laws while ensuring they remain compliant with U.S., EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Data Privacy Framework (DPF) requirements. AbdulNour also aids clients who are victims of cyber attacks in data recovery efforts and mandatory state law notification requirements.

He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Oakland County Bar Association, Washtenaw County Bar Association (WCBA), Detroit Bar Association (DBA), Chaldean American Bar Association (CABA), Ann Arbor Ypsilanti Regional Chamber (A2Y), Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).

AbdulNour earned a J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2022 and a B.A. in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University in 2017.
