Stevenson Keppelman Associates joins Butzel Long
Additional five attorneys complement Butzel Long’s growing employee benefits practice
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The attorneys of Ann Arbor-based Stevenson Keppelman Associates (SKA) join Butzel Long, one of Michigan’s leading law firms, effective September 1, 2015, according to Butzel’s President and Managing Shareholder Justin G. Klimko.

Bob Stevenson is a charter fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel Best Lawyer 2013 (ACEBC). He has been named, by peer review, to every edition of The Best Lawyers in America. He was named Best Lawyers' 2013 Ann Arbor Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law "Lawyer of the Year." Based on client and peer review, Chambers USA has consistently included him and other SKA attorneys among Michigan Lawyers gaining the highest ranking in benefits law. In his 39 years of benefits specialization, Stevenson has handled virtually every kind of benefit law issue for employers large and small.
Nancy Keppelman became a fellow in American College of Employee Benefits Counsel (ACEBC) in 2002. She is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for employee benefits expertise, and is among Michigan lawyers given the highest rating in employee benefits law by Chambers USA, America's Leading Lawyers for Business. She is a past member of the Tax Council of the Michigan State Bar and past president of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan -- Washtenaw Region. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School.
Andrew Stumpff is a long-time employee benefits and executive compensation lawyer. He is a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel and has been named a key individual in Michigan employee benefits/compensation law by Chambers USA.
He is a former co-chair of the Employee Benefits Committee of the New York State Bar Association Tax Section. He teaches Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation at the University of Michigan Law School and at the University of Alabama Law School LL.M in the Taxation program. Stumpff received an A.B. in Mathematics from Washington University in 1983 and a J.D. in 1986 from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as Article Editor of the Michigan Law Review.
Diane M. Soubly focuses her practice on ERISA litigation and labor and employment litigation. She is one of a select few attorneys nationally who have been elected Fellows of both the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel. She has been included in Best Lawyers for many years; as a Super Lawyer in both fields, with more than 30 years of experience in ERISA and employee benefits litigation and plan design, labor and employment counseling and litigation, and appellate litigation.
Mark W. Jane practices in the area of ERISA, employee benefits, and executive compensation. He is on the Board of Directors of the Washtenaw County Bar Association, and is a District Representative on the State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Section Executive Council. He has previously served as a Co-Chair of the New Lawyers Section of the Washtenaw County Bar Association, to which he received the 2010 Outstanding Young Lawyer Award in recognition for his service. He has also been named a Rising Star by Michigan Super Lawyers for the years 2009-2012.
He attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree with high distinction. He also attended Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he received a Juris Doctorate degree cum laude.
