Overview
In 2021, after serving 20 years, Kristina retired from the United States Air Force reserves as a Major. Over her 20-year career she held numerous positions to include a Fighter Squadron and Maintenance Squadron Section Commander, a Selective Service Board trainer, and an Air Force Academy Liaison Officer responsible for recruiting and conducting interviews for aspiring United States Air Force Officers.
During her civilian career, Kristina has held several teaching positions in the United States and Germany. She also was elected to serve on the School Conference of her children’s school for three years and was the leader of the Special Needs Parent Group, allowing her to advocate for the rights of special needs children and their families. This advocacy work for special needs children and their families inspired her to attend law school.
Kristina received her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Michigan State College of Law. During law school, she received her Michigan Civil Mediation Training and conducted pretrial mediation for the 1st Judicial District. In Spring 2023, Kristina was chosen to work for the Equitable Entrepreneurship and Innovation Law Clinic, was selected for the Harold and Franzine Henderson Judicial Clerk Mentorship Program and attended the American Bar Association Judicial Clerkship Program. In Fall 2023, Kristina was selected to represent MSU College of Law at the inaugural Brigadier General Wayne E. Alley Military Law Moot Court Competition sponsored by the Army. Kristina completed an internship with Judge David McKeague a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in the fall semester of 2023 and completed an internship with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan in the spring semester of 2024.
Kristina received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Hampshire in 2001, majoring in Political Science, with a minor in Justice Studies. Also In 2001, she participated in Air Force ROTC and earned her commission as a United States Air Force 2nd Lieutenant. In 2008, Kristina received a Master of Education from the University of Phoenix and earned her Arizona Secondary Teacher Certification.
When she’s not working, Kristina is an avid reader and loves traveling with her family. She has three children and enjoys supporting each of them in all their different activities. Notably, after living in Germany for 12 years, Kristina speaks German fluently.
