Professional growth has been an unwavering aspect of Lori’s career trajectory for more than two decades. Her professional elevations in title and responsibilities has paralleled the consistent advancement of her expertise in the oversight of the Human Resources, Operations, and Library functions in the law firm sector. Her deep experience informs her success in maintaining Butzel’s standard of excellence while continually improving all aspects of firm operations. Renowned as a strong leader and committed to the professional development of attorneys and staff, Lori’s reach across all departments in the firm is readily perceptible. On a typical day she may interact with practice group chairs, department directors, and the staff members in the Human Resources, Operations, and Library Departments that report directly to her. It’s all in a day’s work for Lori as she thrives in a busy, collaborative work environment—and she does just that as an integral member of the many teams of professionals that are responsible to ensure that Butzel is running at optimal levels at all locations.
Maintaining Butzel’s cutting edge firm culture is very important to Lori. As a strong advocate of employee wellness and providing connections and growth opportunities at the firm, she is a member of numerous firm committees, including the Alumni Relations; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Lateral Recruiting; Personnel; Professional Development; Recruiting; Retirement Plan; and Women’s Leadership Committees. Lori is also the Chair of the firm’s Privacy and Cybersecurity Compliance Committee, and she is additionally a member of Butzel’s AI Task Force.
Supporting the community is also a top priority for Ms. Simoncic. She has served as an Advisory Board Member at Midnight Golf Program, an organization dedicated to equipping young adults to succeed in college, in their careers, and beyond, through the discipline of golf. She continues to provide support through a scholarship and has acted as a host for the organization’s annual fundraising event. Lori also supports Folds of Honor, an organization that helps dependents of fallen military heroes through scholarships and other support and is an American Dunes Founder. American Dunes is a golf club dedicated to the mission of supporting families of fallen and disabled service members and their families and is the legacy course to the birthplace of Folds of Honor.
Lori Simoncic is a graduate of Central Michigan University (B.S.) and Ball State University (M.A.). She is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA).
