Yasmeen Farran is an Associate practicing in Butzel’s Detroit Office.
Ms. Farran graduated from the Michigan State University College of Law where she received the Indigenous Law Scholarship and was an associate editor of the Michigan State International Law Review. She also worked in the Michigan State University’s Immigration Clinic and the Immigration Law Clinic at St. Vincent Catholic Charities where she successfully prepared clients for naturalization, filed applications with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, and represented clients in Immigration Court. Ms. Farran also completed the Michigan State University’s esteemed Indigenous Law Certificate Program where she had the privilege of taking a variety of Indian law classes and participated in the Indian Law Clinic.
Ms. Farran received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Near Eastern Studies from the University of Michigan where she was recognized as a James B. Angell Scholar. While studying at the University of Michigan, Ms. Farran interned at the 9th Judicial Circuit Court Trial Division in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Following graduation, Yasmeen began working at the Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees in Utica, New York through the Refugee AmeriCorps program. She split her time working as a Cultural Orientation Coordinator and Caseworker's Aid in the Resettlement Department. In her role as a Cultural Orientation Coordinator, she created and implemented a sustainable uniform cultural orientation curriculum provided to every newly arrived refugee in Utica.
