Taking Action: One woman-owned company's swift response to a shortage of medical cannabis products
Amy McKinnon-Glun, manager of Curing Corner in River Rouge, employs an all-female staff as is passionate about her patients. She's so passionate, in fact, that she filed a complaint against the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) not just once, but twice.
McKinnon-Glun closed her doors a mere six weeks after officially opening her state-licensed facility. With a shortage of medical cannabis products at the end of December 2018, Curing Corner was unable to purchase what it needed to sell to its patients. Many other dispensaries closed as well, for the same reasons. McKinnon-Glun knew that patients needed their medical cannabis, and she needed to act quickly.
