In addition to legal services for U.S. based companies, our attorneys work diligently with corresponding Indian law firms to monitor and advise clients regarding the numerous and significant developments in trade and investment legislation. The attorneys in our India Practice closely monitor the increased interests of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean companies doing business in India.
Over the years, in coordination with Indian counsel, Butzel has established numerous capabilities in India. Our attorneys have worked diligently to establish representative offices, corporate entities, negotiate joint ventures with Indian businesses, draft license agreements, deal with various Customs, export/import and transportation issues created by goods being shipped into India and shipped back under NAFTA, negotiate and draft acquisition agreements, draft employment contracts, counsel regarding immigration matters, and coordinate with Indian counsel to take advantage of trade, investment, and other treaties between India and other countries, to name a few.
