Justin G. Klimko is the President of Butzel Long. Mr. Klimko also serves on the firm’s Board of Directors. He is based in Butzel Long's Detroit office. Mr. Klimko has extensive experience in securities regulation, corporate financing, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and general corporate matters, fields in which he has practiced since 1980. Mr. Klimko has substantial experience in securities regulation matters for publicly and privately held companies.
Stephen A. Bromberg is Counsel to Butzel Long and based in the firm's Bloomfield Hills office. He served as a Director and President of Butzel Long. Mr. Bromberg has represented borrowers and institutional lenders, purchasers and sellers, non-profit entities and contractors and owners in all kinds of office, commercial shopping center, apartment and subdivisions matters, and major construction and zoning matters and workouts, reorganizations and foreclosures, in years of specialization in real estate transactions and litigation.
Robert G. Buydens is a shareholder practicing in Butzel Long's Detroit office. Mr. Buydens concentrates his practice in the area of employee benefits including preparation of pension, money purchase, employee stock purchase, and profit sharing plans for individuals, partnerships, corporations and multiple-employer organizations, as well as the preparation of master plans for profit and non-profit corporations. He has substantial experience in providing advice on and drafting welfare benefit plans, including self-funded health care plans, flexible benefit plans, disability plans, and life insurance plans. He is experienced in executive compensation which includes the preparation of deferred compensation plans, management incentive plans, bonus plans and stock option plans.
Arthur Dudley II is a shareholder practicing in Butzel Long's Detroit and New York offices. Mr. Dudley specializes in securities law, mergers and acquisitions, representation of emerging growth companies, executive compensation, and general corporate representation. Mr. Dudley has practiced law for 30 years and has extensive experience in nearly all aspects of corporate law. He has had primary responsibility for securities matters (including investment company representation and public offerings), mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, and a variety of other matters, including general counsel work, executive compensation, joint ventures and strategic alliances.
David F. DuMouchel is a shareholder practicing in Butzel Long's Detroit office and chairs the firm's Corporate Compliance, Internal Investigations and Criminal Defense practice. Mr. DuMouchel's practice is limited to white collar criminal defense, professional licensure and criminal health care, criminal IRS investigations of both taxpayers and professionals, SEC enforcement of corporate executives, public corruption, as well as grand jury investigations, internal corporate investigations and compliance. He has particular expertise in the Clery Act regarding safety and security on campus at higher education institutions. Mr. DuMouchel's Clery Act practice includes auditing/reviewing compliance, U.S. Department of Education program reviews, development of compliance processes, procedures and programs, and internal investigations of campus security compliance.
John P. Hancock, Jr. is a shareholder based in Butzel Long's Detroit office. Mr. Hancock's practice focuses on collective bargaining negotiations and arbitrations as well as counseling of both public and private employers. He also has done extensive employment litigation and OSHA litigation. Mr. Hancock has served as chief negotiator in numerous collective bargaining negotiations for public schools, municipal and public utilities as well as clients in various other businesses ranging from casinos to steel plants to hospitals and country clubs. A good portion of his practice is devoted to counseling clients on employment issues.
Edward M. Kronk is a shareholder based in Butzel Long's Detroit office and is past Co-Chair of the firm's Litigation Department. Mr. Kronk's practice has been devoted principally to litigation with emphasis on product liability defense and commercial litigation. Mr. Kronk is a member of the panel of Arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association and has served as an arbitrator in both commercial and insurance cases for the Association. He also has served as a special mediator in Michigan Circuit Court mediation. In addition, Mr. Kronk is a member of the firm's Global Automotive Team and has substantial experience advising automotive suppliers on government compliance and warranty issues.
Laurie J. Michelson is a shareholder based in Butzel Long's Detroit office and serves as the practice group leader for the firm's Intellectual Property, Technology and Media practice. Ms. Michelson practices in the areas of media law, business litigation, white collar criminal defense, advertising/marketing law, and intellectual property litigation.
James E. Stewart is a shareholder based in Butzel Long's Ann Arbor office and serves as Chair of the firm's Litigation Department. Mr. Stewart has over 25 years experience handling intellectual property matters, media law issues and commercial litigation. He recently has handled litigation concerning trade secret misappropriation and breach of confidentiality provisions in the automotive supplier sector.
Daniel B. Tukel is a shareholder practicing in Butzel Long's Detroit office and serves as Chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Law Department. Mr. Tukel's practice is devoted to representing both public and private employers in state and federal discrimination and wrongful discharge litigation, as well as traditional labor matters such as collective bargaining and union organizational drives. He regularly counsels employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, in statutory compliance and in creating, implementing and administering employee handbooks and other personnel policies and practices.
