Overview

In addition to his deep experience in labor, employment, fair housing litigation, and administrative law matters, individuals and entities doing business in myriad industries have sought Brett Miller’s counsel in traditional labor matters such as grievance arbitrations, collective bargaining, and more. He routinely prevails in defending clients on administrative charges brought before a variety of governmental agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, National Labor Relations Board, Department of Labor, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, and others.

Recognized by his colleagues for his outstanding capabilities, in addition to his full-time litigation and counseling practice, Mr. Miller is Assistant General Counsel - Labor and Employment for Butzel. He serves as Co-Practice Department Chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment group and a recognized leader in Employment Litigation. He is additionally a member of the firm’s Personnel, Professional Development, and Recruiting Committees.

Brett Miller is a Shareholder practicing in Butzel’s Troy office. He received his juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review and Moot Court Board of Directors, and his undergraduate degree from James Madison University, cum laude, with distinction.

Mr. Miller has been recognized time and again by numerous prestigious legal publications for his expertise in Labor and Employment Law. He frequently serves as a speaker on labor and employment topics to clients, other lawyers, and industry professionals. He has been sought by television and radio syndications for his commentary on notable employment and labor matters in the news, including the 2023 UAW strike involving the Detroit Three automakers, and has additionally written numerous articles on all aspects of Employment Law.
